a whale of a time
19 Apr
From 30 March to Apr 5 this year, 15 Biology students from Coalhurst High School, accompanied by trip organizer and science teacher Robyn Baraniecki as well as school Principal Ron DeMaere, spent six days learning small craft navigation while conducting inter-tidal studies among British Columbia’s Gulf Islands.
It was a whale of a time. Students spotted a large pod of Orca whales as well as Harbour seals, California sea lions and Stellar sea lions, along with numerous tidal pool inhabitants. It was a trip none of the students will forget.
