I am the Consulting Teacher at Coalhurst High School and work closely with the whole school team to provide support systems for our students. The student Services department in our school includes several different programs such as: in-class support, small group instruction, online learning, life skills programs, and individualized programs for students with dependant needs.
We have ten Learning Assistants in Coalhurst High this year and have had an excellent start to the year. Much of the credit is due to the enthusiasm, skills, and involvement of our Learning Assistant team.
On a personal note, I am a huge fan of the great out doors and especially enjoy hiking in the mountains. However, casts and crutches have made it clear in the past few years that I am still testing the limits of my abilities! But then, I believe that achievement is often worth the pain.
